The present

Thanks to the generosity and support of the Fondation Daniel et Nina Carasso – under the aegis of the Fondation de France and the Fondation Connaissance et Liberté (FOKAL) – the Centre d'Art is currently housed in temporary premises at its historic address, 58 rue Roy in Port-au-Prince, and continues to carry out its missions, which align with the original concept: training, support for creation, diffusion, commercialization, and research.

Our mission

Through its courses, exhibitions, and collection, as well as its hosting of cultural and artistic events (conferences, screenings, shows, etc.), the Centre d’Art enables the following:

  • Discovering talent, supporting, training, and assisting Haitian artists in their creative work.
  • Fostering creation by promoting it in the art market and bringing artists out of anonymity.
  • Preserving, documenting, and showcasing the collections already housed at the Centre d’Art.
  • Making Haiti’s visual arts heritage accessible and passing it on.

Since its rebirth in 2014, the Centre d’Art in 2025 is:

  • 200 students per year
  • 32 creative workshops
  • Over 5,750 conserved works and more than 3,300 archival documents
  • International artist residency programs
  • 10 exhibitions in Haiti and abroad
  • More than 50 conferences and 123 cultural events
  • A space dedicated to digital creation
